Vanessa is not particularly interested in the supernatural like Avril or Jay, but she's still in on it because of...Well they're just fun to hang out with, I guess? She works as a barista between actually researching and fact-checking the stuff behind whatever they've got planned that week. Vanessa enjoys nerdy hobbies, so she also spends her free time over at the library or the comic book store; though she often leaves immediately once the neckbeards show up.

Despite her skepticism, which is mostly born out of fear rather than actual disbelief because of this If-I-cant-see-it-it-cant-see-me mentality she has, she still hangs out with Sai and Iris, known borderline conspiracy theorists, in most of their antics. She'll even entertain the idea of aliens just because of the Fermi Paradox! And to make them happy.
